Christian Living/GMRC in Grade 6 deepens learners’ understanding of God’s self-revelation through Sacred Scripture, creation, and Salvation History. The subject helps learners recognize God’s faithful presence throughout history and discover how His message continues to guide their lives and decisions today.
Through the study of the Patriarchs, Moses, the Judges, Kings, Prophets, the Gospels, and the teachings of Jesus, learners explore key events and figures that reveal God’s plan of salvation. They engage in Scripture reflection, prayer, discussions, and faith-centered activities that connect biblical teachings to contemporary experiences and moral choices.
As learners grow in faith, they develop biblical literacy, moral discernment, and Christian discipleship. The subject encourages them to apply Scripture-based values and the teachings of Christ in their daily lives while strengthening their commitment to faith, service, and responsible living within the Lasallian community.
Mathematics
Mathematics in Grade 6 deepens learners’ understanding of numbers, geometry, measurement, and data through meaningful real-life applications and problem-solving experiences. Araling Panlipunan
Ang Araling Panlipunan sa Baitang 6 ay nakatuon sa pag-unawa sa mga hamon at oportunidad na kinakaharap ng Pilipinas sa kasalukuyan. Sinusuri nito kung paano nakaaapekto ang mahahalagang pangyayari sa kasaysayan at ang mga karanasan ng mga Pilipino sa paghubog ng pambansang pagkakakilanlan at pag-unlad ng bansa.
Sa pamamagitan ng mga talakayan, pagsusuri ng mga sanggunian, pagsasaliksik, at mga gawaing nakabatay sa tunay na sitwasyon, natututuhan ng mga mag-aaral ang epekto ng imperyalismo, pakikibaka para sa kalayaan, at mga mahahalagang pangyayaring nagbigay-daan sa pagbuo ng matatag na pagkabansa. Iniuugnay rin nila ang mga aral ng kasaysayan sa mga isyung kinakaharap ng bansa sa kasalukuyan.
Sa pagtatapos ng kurso, nahuhubog ang mga mag-aaral na may malalim na pagpapahalaga sa kasaysayan, kalayaan, at pambansang identidad. Nalilinang din ang kanilang pagiging mapanuri, makabayan, at handang makibahagi sa pagsusulong ng pambansang kaunlaran at responsableng pagkamamamayan.
Science
Science in Grade 6 develops learners’ understanding of matter, living systems, ecosystems, Earth processes, and astronomical phenomena through inquiry-based learning and scientific investigation. The subject encourages learners to examine natural processes, evaluate evidence, and appreciate the role of science in addressing real-world challenges.
Through experiments, observations, research activities, fair testing, data analysis, and the use of scientific models, learners investigate mixtures and separation techniques, body systems, plant reproduction, animal classification, ecosystems, weather patterns, seasons, volcanic activity, and the apparent movement of celestial objects. Ang asignaturang Filipino sa Baitang 6 ay nakatuon sa mas mataas na paglalapat ng mga kasanayang panliterasi, pagpapalawak ng bokabularyo, at pagpapaunlad ng kakayahang makipagtalastasan sa iba’t ibang anyo ng diskurso. Layunin nitong ihanda ang mga mag-aaral sa mas malawak at mas makabuluhang paggamit ng wikang Filipino bilang kasangkapan sa pagkatuto at pakikilahok sa lipunan.
Sa pamamagitan ng pagbasa, pagsusuri, pananaliksik, talakayan, pagsulat, at paggamit ng mga elementong biswal at multimedia, napauunlad ng mga mag-aaral ang kanilang kakayahang umunawa at makabuo ng mga tekstong naratibo at impormatibo. Iniuugnay nila ang kanilang mga natutuhan sa mga usaping pambansa at pandaigdigan habang isinasaalang-alang ang konteksto, layunin, at angkop na paggamit ng wika.
