Christian Living/GMRC in Grade 2 deepens learners’ understanding of God’s love through the Sacraments and the teachings of the Catholic faith. The subject helps learners appreciate God’s mercy, forgiveness, and saving presence while strengthening their relationship with Him as active members of the Christian community.

Through Scripture stories, prayer experiences, classroom discussions, sacramental celebrations, and faith-centered activities, learners explore the meaning of Baptism, Reconciliation, and the Eucharist. They are encouraged to recognize God’s grace in their daily lives and to respond through acts of kindness, gratitude, generosity, and compassion.

As learners grow in faith, they develop a stronger sense of responsibility, empathy, and commitment to Christian values. The subject nurtures a spirit of service, respect for others, and active participation in the Lasallian community, inspiring learners to live their faith with joy and purpose.

Mathematics

Mathematics in Grade 2 builds on learners’ foundational numeracy skills and deepens their understanding of mathematical concepts through meaningful real-life applications. The subject helps learners develop confidence in working with numbers, patterns, measurements, shapes, and problem-solving situations encountered in everyday life.

Araling Panlipunan

Ang Araling Panlipunan sa Baitang 2 ay nakatuon sa pagpapaunlad ng kamalayang pansarili at pangkultura upang matulungan ang mga mag-aaral na maunawaan ang kanilang pagkakakilanlan at papel sa lipunan. Layunin nitong linangin ang pagpapahalaga sa sarili, kultura, komunidad, at mga responsibilidad bilang kasapi ng isang mas malawak na pamayanan.

Sa pamamagitan ng mga talakayan, kuwento, gawaing pangkat, pagsasaliksik, at mga gawaing nakabatay sa karanasan, natututuhan ng mga mag-aaral ang tungkol sa kultura, kalusugan, pakikipagkapuwa, at pakikilahok sa komunidad. Iniuugnay nila ang kanilang mga natutuhan sa mga sitwasyong nakikita at nararanasan sa pang-araw-araw na buhay.

Sa pagtatapos ng kurso, nahuhubog ang mga mag-aaral na may paggalang sa sarili at sa iba, pagpapahalaga sa kulturang Filipino, at kamalayang panlipunan. Nalilinang din ang kanilang pagiging responsable, mapagmalasakit, at handang makibahagi sa pag-unlad ng kanilang komunidad.

Science

Science in Grade 2 develops learners’ understanding of how their senses help them observe, explore, and make sense of the world around them. The subject strengthens foundational science process skills while encouraging curiosity, healthy living, and appreciation for the environment.

Through investigations, hands-on activities, observations, experiments, and guided inquiry, learners explore the functions of the sense organs and how they help in observing, classifying, inferring, and measuring. They also examine the importance of maintaining healthy practices and learn how living things depend on a healthy environment.

As learners engage in scientific discovery, they develop observation skills, critical thinking, responsibility, and environmental awareness. Guided by Lasallian values, they learn to care for plants, animals, and natural resources while becoming thoughtful and responsible stewards of creation.

Filipino

Ang asignaturang Filipino sa Baitang 2 ay nakatuon sa higit pang pagpapaunlad ng kasanayan sa pakikinig, pagsasalita, pagbasa, at pagsulat. Layunin nitong palawakin ang kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral na gamitin ang wikang Filipino nang wasto, malinaw, at makabuluhan sa iba’t ibang sitwasyon ng komunikasyon at pagkatuto.

Sa pamamagitan ng mga kuwento, talakayan, pagbasa ng iba’t ibang teksto, malikhaing pagsulat, at iba’t ibang gawaing pangwika, nahahasa ang kanilang pag-unawa, bokabularyo, at kasanayan sa pagpapahayag ng mga ideya at damdamin. Natututuhan din nila ang wastong paggamit ng gramatika at mga estruktura ng wika sa kanilang pakikipagtalastasan.

Sa pagtatapos ng kurso, nahuhubog ang mga mag-aaral na may kakayahang makipagkomunikasyon nang epektibo, may pagmamahal sa wikang Filipino, at may tiwala sa sariling pagpapahayag. Nalilinang din ang kanilang pagiging mapanuri, malikhain, at responsableng gumagamit ng wika.

English

English in Grade 2  is designed to teach learners different techniques in decoding the meaning of words to expand and strengthen their vocabulary to better understand and analyze various reading materials. The subject also integrates Grammar and Composition lessons to equip them with a clear understanding of sentences and paragraphs which they can use for precise expression in both oral and written communication.

Learners continue to form good study habits through the use of the dictionary and other reference materials together where they are taught to use appropriate expressions in varied situations; read texts for pleasure and information critically in meaningful thought units; respond properly to environmental issues accompanied by inquiry-driven activities inspired by real-world scenarios that allow them to explore different views.

All learning goals are grounded on the Lasallian Core Values that aim to teach their minds, touch their hearts and transform their lives and the lives of the people around them.

Physical Education

Physical Education in Grade 2 supports the holistic development of learners by promoting physical fitness, movement competence, and healthy living. The subject encourages learners to appreciate the value of regular physical activity as part of a balanced and active lifestyle.

Through movement activities, fitness exercises, rhythmic routines, games, and skill-building tasks, learners develop coordination, balance, flexibility, and control of body movements.
