We congratulate our 11th grader Alessandra Isabelle S. Gazo for winning the 2021 Harvard GlobalWE Essay Contest, an annual contest promoting the rights of women. Launched in 2015, it has since expanded, attracting participants from Germany, Mexico, Pakistan, the Philippines, Turkey, India, South Korea, and the United States. Alessandra’s winning entry dubbed, “Teenage Pregnancy; The Downfall of the Youth”, revolves around the question: “What is the biggest challenge facing women and girls in your country today?” Isabelle has received a certificate, a copy of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s book called, “We Should All Be Feminists,” and an invitation to serve as a judge for similar contests in other countries. Congratulations!
