LSGH taekwondo talents – Raphael V. Ongkiko; Javier Dexter D. Macasaet; Victor Emmanuel M. Rodriguez; and, Juan Victorio A. Ongsiako – shine anew in two recent events: the 2020 PTA MILO Online Taekwondo and the Smart/MVPSF CPJ Online Taekwondo championships held last November 22 and November 28, 2020, respectively.

Since mid-July this year, our taekwondo jins have been hard at work, joining online tournaments hosted by the Philippine Taekwondo Association and aired live via an online video sharing platform in the PTA’s Facebook page. The shift, which involves sending performance videos ahead of time to the organizer, allowed our athletes a way to cope with the pandemic and a platform to showcase skills they have been honing during home quarantine.

They have collected a total of seven medals consisting of 2 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze from their respective divisions and categories.

Indeed, it has been a fruitful campaign for Ongkiko, Macasaet, Rodriguez, and Ongsiako in the past five months. La Salle Green Hills, through its Sports Program and Development Office, continues to support them in their sports journey.

Aside from Taekwondo and Karatedo which successfully shifted to online tournaments, La Salle Green Hills continues to support as well its roster of athletes who are temporarily prevented from joining tournaments by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) due to COVID-19.

Again, our congratulations to our taekwondo athletes.
