La Salle Green Hills recently held a victory dinner to celebrate the LSGH Greenies’ triumph at NCAA 93 Juniors Basketball Tournament. This was La Salle Green Hills’ first-ever NCAA juniors basketball championship since the school joined in 1967. The occasion also feted LSGH SBP-A for successfully defending their title in the Small Basketeers of the Philippines (SBP) Season 32 National Championship, a 3-peat for LSGH.

The evening festivity honored the LSGH cagers who shared their talents to the best of their abilities. It was also meant to be an expression of joy and gratitude for the support given by coaches, parents, donors, teachers, administrators and Brothers.

The occasion started with a Eucharistic celebration, followed by the Lighting Ceremony. During the Entrance of Light, Br. Victor Franco, FSC lit the bonfire, symbolizing thanksgiving. Br. Felipe Belleza Jr., FSC then performed the blessing of the fire. The audience, who had already converged to form a U around the bonfire, was one in praying: “May this fire ignite a spark in our hearts to achieve and to reach out, to play our best as athletes and as Lasallians, to be a good sport and a good citizen, and to realize that in games as in life, win or lose, we should always give our best shot, because in sharing our talents and in helping others, we all come away winners in creation.”

After the celebratory dinner at the Enrique Razon Activity Center (ERAC), the Roll Call and Parade of Athletes were conducted, and tokens were presented to the sports achievers. The event was capped with hearty singing of the school hymn.

The NCAA Juniors Basketball Victory Dinner was held as a gesture of appreciation for LSGH athletes who have resolved to “Go Higher” by summoning their formidable Lasallian spirit.
