KAKAIBANG ENDING para sa MAKABULUHANG BEGINNING!
The First High School Multi-sectoral Reachout
October 29, 2015
The first voluntary multi-sectoral reachout of the High School Department was held as a way of encouraging different sectors to get involved in the preparation for the formal adoption of a community partner. The community known as Our Lady of Bannaeux Community (OLB) in San Mateo, Rizal is now the reachout area of the Grade 12 students. Ending the first semester with forty three (43) Lasallians joining the occasion was a meaningful way of ending the first semester and looking forward to the second part of the school year.
For the past months, the area has been home to different groups of Lasallians from the department. It is hoped that the initial exposure experiences will get Lasallians interested in committing themselves to walk with the fifty (50) families of the community in the next four (4) years. Aside from the community service being rendered by the day visits of Grade 12 students, immersions/community living, medical mission and symbolic tree planting were provided last October 29. Community profiling is currently being completed which will aid in the design of the community engagement plan being drafted on November 21, 2016.
The community engagement plan is the share of the High School Department in generating more volunteers involved in sustainable projects for the poor. It will address areas of needs and participation for a more comprehensive and systematic way of engaging with a community. Today, as the High School Department explores more creative ways of accompanying its community partners, we encourage every LSGH Lasallian to join us and participate in this project.
In all these efforts, the Lasallian Mission Office would like to thank the teachers, administrators, staff, parents, alumni, and students who took part in this worthy exercise of building relationships with the families of OLB who made sure that the community was home away from our home. ANIMO.
Live Jesus in our hearts. Forever.
