Building Collaboration: Labora Expedition 2019
A group of 20 pupils and 3 adult leaders from Singapore came over to La Salle Green Hills for a 4-day Labora Expedition Program (Teacher-Student Exchange), which ran from September 1-4, 2019.
Now on its second year, the program offers the young pupils and their adult companions an opportunity to immerse themselves in another culture, a chance to interact with their fellow Lasallians and a way to forge collaboration between La Salle Green Hills and St. Joseph’s International – Junior Singapore.
The grade school community, led by Mr. Jose Ramelle E. Javier, GS Principal, warmly welcomed the Singaporean delegates during the morning assembly held at the Father Martinez Activity Center (FMAC) on September 2.
Aside from immersion activities at the Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy, the delegates also visited Academy of St. John, an LSGH supervised school, toured the Manila Ocean Park, engaged in joint formation programs, and observed classes in music, technology, PE, math, science and other subjects.
A courtesy meeting with the President Emeritus, Br. Victor A. Franco FSC, an interaction with the members of the Grade School Principal’s Council and appreciation ceremony were held to culminate the activity.
It was indeed a fruitful and meaningful encounter for the delegates as they get a better appreciation of their Lasallian heritage.
