Donations That Make A Difference

LSGH shares resources with public schools

La Salle Green Hills takes extending help to others to heart, more so if it is for the young and the youth at risk. A good education, complemented by materials and resources that make schools more conducive to learning, is the desire of Lasallian mission.

In view of this, the school recently donated around 1,400 armchairs to several schools in Metro Manila, including a municipality in Quezon province and the Muntindilaw Elementary and National High Schools in Falcon, Antipolo, Rizal.

Provincial schools like Sampaloc Elementary and National High School and the Adela S. Torres National High School in Sampaloc, Quezon also received the same, in coordination with Mayor Angelo Devanadera, LSGH alumnus Batch ‘97.

A number of donations were also given to other schools: textbooks were donated to Deparo Elementary School in Kabatuhan, Caloocan City; armchairs, computer and reception tables and fluorescent lamps were given to De Castro Elementary School in Sta. Lucia, Pasig City as well as armchairs, wooden lockers, computer and office tables to San Vicente Elementary School in Santa Maria, Bulacan.

La Salle University Ozamiz also received chairs from LSGH while computer monitors were shared with La Salle Academy Illigan.

An average of 10 solicitations is processed by LSGH yearly, usually towards the summer months. The Administrative Services Department [ASD] handles these transactions, including sourcing of resources for possible donation and the preparation of a Deed of Donation.  This year, items for donation were sourced mostly from the Gr. 11 and 12 levels, including some from the Grade School Department and other offices.

LSGH recognizes the need to continuously underscore the importance of helping others, even as it cares for the environment. The school’s intent is to reuse materials by donating them so that these may be fully used by others.
