Promotes the motto ‘Work conquers all’

Last October 9, students and teachers of Assumption Samutprakarn (AS) School, Thailand trooped to La Salle Green Hills for a day of interaction and class immersion. Composed of 18 students and two teachers, the Thai delegation had a glimpse of Filipino culture and hospitality and of Lasallian education.

Miss Rubi Vasco, Student Activities Coordinator, gave the orientation highlighting the curricular offerings and the extra-curricular programs of the high school department. The Executive Committee of Student Affairs Central Body (SACB) headed by Mr. Matthew Philip Ona facilitated a campus tour. The interaction with the SACB officers involved all participants in an enjoyable getting-to-know-you activities which paved the way for an interesting exchange of ideas and learnings. The Grade 11 classroom observations rendered the Thai students a view of the different Senior High School academic strands. Making the exposure more entertainingly engaging was the teaching of ball handling skills handled by the Basketball class of Coach Juno Ramos, with even the female student-delegates testing their athletic prowess in the court.  In addition, students were treated to a showcase of Philippine folk dance by the Contemporary Arts students under the tutelage of Mr. Lou Angelo Saludez.

The LSGH visit, according to AS teachers Mr. Narongrit Sangkrasi and Mr. Sitichai Titanakit, is one memorable experience for them as the Lasallians unraveled among their Thai students deeper awareness and better appreciation of Lasallian academic excellence and of cultural diversities.
